Broadsides are Back!

Here is a broadside project I completed a while back. I still have about 18 of them for sale, for those interested. Any funds will be used toward a writing workshop I've had my eyes on. Thanks!

What happens when a boy in the Delta falls in love with the moon? This poem was my attempt at an answer. It was prompted by one of my drives through the Arkansas Delta and imagining the cotton fields at night. I was happy to collaborate with artist Claire Owen of Turtle Island Press. Her artwork captured the longing and mysterious adoration I hoped to express in the poem.

Claire Owen has been producing limited edition books since 1981. After receiving degrees in illustration and printmaking from Rochester Institute of Technology, she moved to Philadelphia and established her own imprint. Turtle Island Press books maintain many of the traditional aspects of fine print editions, using archival materials, and formal binding formats. Owen uses hand printing methods including etchings, woodcuts for her images. She collaborates with letterpress printers for the text, and her books are hand bound. Recently Owen has begun to use digital imagery of her drawing and painting in her bookwork, combining new technologies with traditional methods of reproduction.
